Financial Aid from a woman

Today I am ranting,

Today I am pouring my heart out and talking about the unfortunate crisis that is sexism

What is sexism you may ask?

Well sexism is a situation where guys assume or feel like they are somewhat better than girls, or like girls don't deserve some rights given to them cause their female

Oya wait let's be serious now

Sexism is prejudice, stereotyping, or discrimination, typically against women, on the basis of sex.

"sexism in language is an offensive reminder of the way the culture sees women"

You can proceed to shake your head as you have seen another one of Chimamanda's children, I don't know but I feel like this shit is an actual problem in Africa and the world as a whole

So let's start with this,

Why is it such a problem for women to offer men money?

I don't get it

Today I was just gisting with one of my male friends and he was telling me about his problems and what not, mainly money issues

And so I asked

"Should I give you money?"

And my dear people this boy lost it, he started shouting and asking why I would ask him such a question, about how I have offended him and how I have "hurt his ego" and I was just like, guy I'm offering a solution, so I asked now why I can't help,

And he had the guts to say

"Cause I'm the guy and your the girl, it doesn't work that way"

That was the most heartbreaking statement ever made, I literally felt something shatter in my chest, it made me even feel weak somehow I really just couldn't in that situation, like you were the one telling me in that moment how much you needed money and I am offering the money to you, you are telling me "it doesn't work that way"

I don't understand

So anyways me being the feminist that I am, I pointed out that uncle your statement was sexist, and he then apologized but still proceeded to tell me about why a female offering a male money isn't right, and how it doesn't make sense, he kept on making a lot of sexist comments along the way even.

So I sat down and thought about it, why is it such a huge deal?, has it become so rare for a female helping out a male financially that it has now been considered abominable?

That it has even become a social vice?

I really do not get it, cause I feel like as a female, if I do have any money to spare, I should be able to offer it to any gender I please without being questioned.

Abi is it pride ni?

That a female giving you money makes you less of a man, or that you feel the woman is going out of her way to get it so it isn't right?

Maybe it's cause a woman offering a man money is like her claiming ownership on the male in question or what?, that it is actually the male's duty to provide financial aid

Let me clear something up

Yes. It is the man's duty to provide for the home but it also the woman's duty as well, see what I'm driving at is equal rights.

Come to think of it anyways I can think of half of the male population deciding that they rather die than accept financial aid from a woman

I don't get this concept that a woman cannot offer a man money,  I really don't get it, the fact that it's even considered offensive is even more confusing,

Tell me though, is it just the feminist in me speaking, maybe I'm just speaking from a female point of view here and I'm not considering the male population here

Or what do you think?

Girl Code

Girl code is a topic I, as a female and all, am very very familiar with, Girl code is simply a bunch of spoken/unspoken laws that go around the girl community, it's quite like Bro code only difference more of less is repercussions and the fact that Girl code is more universal and what not. Girl code  can easily be explained as a set of rules, ethnics and even beliefs that demands ultimate loyalty to one's female friends above anyone else, be it parents, siblings, and in extreme cases God- no one's above a female    As seen, we as females are all in this cult universally, we're all sisters you know?, As females of the world we're all expected to follow a set of written/unwritten rules in order to keep friendships, at some point in our lives, we've been asked to sacrifice happiness and what we want to do, so we don't lose our female friends To me, personally, I feel girl code is more or less messed up, in most aspects really cause I see no absolute re...

Choosing "YOUR" right career

It is not at all easy finding something you would want to do for the rest of your life right? Not in the slightest way Choosing a career is one of the scariest thing to do in/before your final year (where I am), cause once you've chosen that career that is going to be your main  source of income for more or less the rest of your life, you cannot just wing  this important decision that defines you as an individual. Careers change over time, they change constantly till you settle down in a spot (career) and this very spot you decide to settle has to be beneficiary, you have to like it and earn from it.  When I was 4, if you'd ask me what I wanted to be, I'd tell you "a fairy" the simpler times right?, I'd want wings and a wand and all of that junk, I was down for spending the rest of my life in the air granting wishes to children and dogs. That was all I wanted to do, to be honest, and at the time, my parents found absolutely nothing wrong with that, the whole i...

The Aftermath of Heartbreak

Heartbreak, (unfortunately or fortunately) is one of the most inescapable occurrences in our existence. It's something no one can deny having a share of. As long as you are reading this right now. You have suffered through heartbreak.          And don't get it twisted my friends, I'm not saying majority of you have had your hearts broken by the male or female species. Heartbreak isn't just about: boy sees girl, boy likes girl, girl (from out of freaking nowhere) starts to like boy too, boy asks girl out, girl says yes, boy screws girl over, girl sits in her room, battling depression with chocolate icecream, or vice versa. Heartbreak, or rather the cause of heartbreak comes in different shapes and sizes people.          Heartbreak can actually be cause of so many things; heartbreak could come from, a cartoon character, a cringy TV show, Lion King, most commonly a person or an animal.          M...
