The Concept Of Rape

Forewarning: The topic of rape applies to every gender, every age and every race, rape can happen to anyone, anytime and anywhere. This piece\article however, is going to be narrowed down to women, it is going to be looked at from a African teen female's point of view [that is myself]. Once again this is based on what I have seen and heard.

Rape is a type of sexual assault usually involving sexual intercourse or other forms of sexual penetration carried out against a person without that person's consent.

I find it completely petrifing  that rape is still an ongoing thing in the 21st century, as in 21st century, and I mean like 2019 , once a woman is raped it is undeniably or most likely her fault like she literally could be standing there minding her own business and applying her classic red lip gloss, get shoved into a corner, get raped and it would STILL be all her fault. She is positioned in any of the following most biased categories  "she was asking for it", " who sent her to wear that dress?" "why did she look at me that way?" "she was playing hard to get" "it's obvious she did want me", ALL NONSENSE BY THE WAY, so yes, absolutely none of these reasons are even a bit legitimate to FORCEFULLY RAPE A WOMAN. never. It is absolutely disgusting that this still goes on and no one talks about it or even gives it the light of day, all a female wanted was to doll up, look pretty and have the time of her life and then she's raped and she doesn't even get a chance to explain it or redeem herself? That's backwards thinking.

This situation that is rape is a million times worse in Africa due to conservative cultures, Yoruba mothers and what not. If a woman is raped in Africa mind you it is always and consistently her fault- cause she looked pretty and showed a little clevage. Meanwhile we disregard the male and assume that he was doing what any other horny male would do cause its what they want and it is what they should get as "men".

In an African home, just having a child out of wedlock is enough to get you completely disowned to be honest, and no I'm not degrading my culture/heritage, Lord knows I am in love with where I'm from completely, I'm really just saying the truth, my own mother once told me, and I quote " If you get pregnant [before marriage], just carry you're pregnancy and leave my house cause I'm going to pretend I never carried you in my womb for 9 months" so yes as you can see it's a serious issue. It's considered disrespectful and hell an abomination, you cannot bring a baby, out of nowhere like, no introduction, no marriage pounded yam, no family asooke, I'm telling you, it's something that's just not done. So imagine being raped and then coming home pregnant, let me be the first to tell you it's outright banishment, no one even has to tell you, just the neighbors stares alone are enough to tell you the amount at which you have screwed yourself- which is ultimately and usually a whole lot.

Rape is truly one of the greatest fears of a woman, especially when its in the case of a virgin, just think about it, imagine keeping yourself only for someone else to come forcefully strip that away from you stripping you bear of your dignity. I know for a fact that is something nobody would like to face such a thing or experience anything close to it. That's cause sexual intercourse is something special, and magical, I mean I don't know about you guys but I find sex to be very sacred, and so do many other girls out there, virgin or not.

And no rape does not only occur outside, you don't have to go or be stupid, wild, drunk, and naked to be raped. Rape could be taking place in your very home right now as we speak [never mind please don't get alarmed I'm joking, sort of] but the truth is rape could be happening right under your noses. There are husbands who rape their wife [and no a husband has NO right to sex from his wife], uncles who rape their niceses, aunts who molest their nephews, cousins who touch their cousins, friends who rape friends it goes on, it's a never ending cycle of bullcrap to be very honest.

Back to the program, because really I can spend all day talking about this. Everyone knows what happens during rape, but not everyone has a clear understanding of what happens after. After a girl is raped, she's traumatized and completely scarred. She loses faith in all of the male population and sometimes even God, the worst part about it is the legal system [yes that's where I'm going with this] the legal system that's both corrupt and in complete shambles. Only a few girls actually ever get justice for themselves and I'm talking about the powerful females who carry a hundred grand in their prada bags just for fun, I'm talking about those ladies, but you see the remainder of the women who are raped and traumatized are not so favourable because instead of justice reigning slaps on the "men", the men criminals who have committed this atrocity are not brought to justice, they roam the streets and go back to their houses or [in most cases] mansions. They see that there's no actual punishment for their deeds [they still will end up in hell though] no repramandment, so they do it over and over and over again without a care because as I said, they aren't any enforced laws stopping them. But you see if the judicial system stepped up, just like maybe a whole goddamn lot, we will not have women scared to go out with that top they like, or women who are scared to dance how they want to or women who are scared of expressing themselves. We will have women who are free to do what ever they want to do [cleavage and all].

  1. Exactly! I love your concept on this. It's actually so messed up how people blame the woman. Like the man made a "choice and decision" to rape. A decision to commit a crime. So yeah she dressed "indecently" but um until indecent dressing is a thing in the constitution, then don't accuse her. The man on the other hand went against the law, so let your focus be on him.

The Aftermath of Heartbreak

Heartbreak, (unfortunately or fortunately) is one of the most inescapable occurrences in our existence. It's something no one can deny having a share of. As long as you are reading this right now. You have suffered through heartbreak.          And don't get it twisted my friends, I'm not saying majority of you have had your hearts broken by the male or female species. Heartbreak isn't just about: boy sees girl, boy likes girl, girl (from out of freaking nowhere) starts to like boy too, boy asks girl out, girl says yes, boy screws girl over, girl sits in her room, battling depression with chocolate icecream, or vice versa. Heartbreak, or rather the cause of heartbreak comes in different shapes and sizes people.          Heartbreak can actually be cause of so many things; heartbreak could come from, a cartoon character, a cringy TV show, Lion King, most commonly a person or an animal.          M...

Our Flawed Educational System

Forewarning:  I am originally from Africa, Nigeria, which is a developing country, I am speaking/typing out of my experience and my own personal knowledge of education in and outside Africa, so yes my thoughts on this topic may or may not be biased, sort of ignorant and inaccurate.        School is- on a normal basis- hell, school is literally depressing and no there are no excuses, nothing about "but the people in it are great" "and you get to learn yay" nope. None of that. Everything about the concept school is sad. You wake up very early in the morning to go somewhere unhygienic, so people can explain to you how to do/solve useless things, your hallway is littered by people you know, don't know, and don't like (there is no in between) also half  or rather more than half of these people are fake and are usually manipulative except for the actually tolerable ones that don't make you feel  completely  like crap, you write tests on the useless...
